The school opened in 1987, and serves students aged 11-18, with a sixth form created in 2006.[3] After 23 years as headteacher, Mr Richardson left in spring 2010. In his honour, the new sports building has been named the Richardson Sports Hall.
Ofsted, in their most recent (2005) report, described the school as 'a very good school. Its excellent multi-cultural acceptance and first-rate relationships are fine examples that produce peaceful coexistence.' [4] Its 2003 - 2006 GCSE results were below the averages for Slough and England.[2]
